Description

Wall Builders is a cooperative 1-2 hour 2-4 player card driven strategy game wherein team Z-J-E-N builds the walls of the Holy City & Temple in time!

As Ezra, how many Jews can you convince to return to Israel with you? As Nehemiah can you rally the Jews to fill in the gaps and create one continuous wall (Nehemiah 2:17)? “We labored in the work… from the break of dawn till the stars appeared” (Nehemiah 4:15).

As Ezra-Nehemiah can you call a convention and administer what became known as, “The Covenant of Faith” (Nehemiah, Chapter 10). The people read from the Book of Deuteronomy, which described all the laws and ideals they were not living up to. They all wept and repented, and agreed to uphold the Torah from then on, especially to observe the Sabbath, bring the tithes and donations to the Temple and to refrain from marrying non-Jews.

Sanballat and Tobiah will try to keep the Jews inter-marrying and ignoring the Sabbath. They will try to persuade the Arabians, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites to attack Jerusalem if the walls continue to be rebuilt.  They will delay, discourage, and intimidate. They will try to appeal to the King of Persia and erode his support for this project.

Will Cyrus the Great of Persian once again appoint Zerubbabel as governor of Judah? Will Zerubbabel began rebuilding the temple with the help of the High Priest Joshua? Will Samaritans oppose temple reconstruction, and adversely affect Persia support for the project? How many years will the temple sit unfinished? Will the prophets Haggai and Zechariah once again encourage and support Zerubbabel? Will Passover be reinstated? Leviticus 26 & Deuteronomy 27–30 are critically important for an understanding of biblical eschatology because they illustrate God’s pronouncement of the blessings that will result from obedience to the stipulations of the Mosaic covenant & the curses that will result from disobedience. In chapter 27, Moses commands the people to set up plastered stones at Mount Ebal upon which they were to write all the words of the law. After the people entered the land, six of the tribes stood on Mount Gerizim and six on Mount Ebal . The Levites then to recited a summary of the curses of the covenant. Chapter 28 outlines in great detail the blessings for obedience to God’s covenant stipulations  & the curses for disobedience. Among the curses is the ultimate punishment, namely exile from the land. Now returned to the land Zerubbabel must spearhead the task of rebuilding the Temple.
