  1. Joel Robison

I like the map and the simplicity of play. I also like the historical cards; but they do not necessarily occur in chronological order. History in this game can be re-written. The Pagans are surprisingly strong. I think they have a slight advantage. This is a straight out two-player card driven war game. I like it, and I give it four out of five stars.

  2. Loyd Brazzel

Fighting is on-going with this one. This is a WAR game. The Hebrews have the burden of being on the offensive; yet the Pagans; given the right card combinations and circumstances, can be very strong. Both sides have some specific advantages. Off-board Pagans ambushes can keep the Hebrews guessing and cautious; but the Hebrews are under time pressure so they might just walk blindly into an ambush notwithstanding. The Philistine Giants can be very difficult to defeat. Great game mechanics.

  3. Josh Shephard

In our few games the Pagans are far too powerful. They hammered the Hebrews under Joshua. I like rolling a lot of dice. That is fun. I just don’t see how the Hebrews can win against the combined might of the Amorites, Canaanites, and the Philistines. I don’t know, maybe we are doing something wrong? The map, the game, the card deck, and the game mechanics make for a fast speed of play. overall, i give it 4 of 5 stars.

  4. Allen Councilman

I liked everything about this game. It is a lot of fun to play with lots of battles. Takes about 2-3 hours.

  5. Scott Nedza

Joshua must attack. That is what I have learned after playing this game five times. The Hebrew player must be aggressive, but not reckless. Joshua’s first objective should be Ai, followed by wiping out the Amorites. Keep the Jebusites up in Jerusalum; and keep a supply line until the Amorites are no more. Bringing Balum the son of Beor to justice is a bonus. Once the Amorites are eliminated the Hebrews have a major choice to make. Either swing north against the Iron Chariots of the Canaanites, or take on the Anakin of the Philistines. Attack, attack, attack!!! For the Pagans, a valuable card is Pagan Alliance. If you are able to hold out and unite the three major Pagan nations can defeat Joshua in open battle. If not, don’t be afraid to hit and run, keeping the battle away from Joshua. Engage Caleb or another leader who is not as powerful. Attrition the Hebrews down, cut off their reinforcements, fight and delay. Both sides of this game are strong, but I slightly favor the Pagans. Pagans thus far have won 3 of 5 games. This is a card driven war game, with an emphasis on war. Get ready to roll plenty of dice. A great game.
